In short
DocXAssist processes documents, screenshots and audio on your computer. Our server receives only the minimum needed for your account, and AI receives only what you ask it about.
What we store
Your email and password (encrypted) to sign in; your name and avatar if you set them; your device list — computer name, system, app version and an anonymised device fingerprint (a hash from which the original identifier cannot be recovered); plan, subscription and invite details. To track limits, a log of AI requests: time, feature, size and cost of the request (without the content of questions or answers).
What never leaves your computer
Your documents, audio recordings, flashcards, translation history, AI question history and statistics are stored only on your device. Screenshots, photos and texts are never sent anywhere without your request.
AI features
When you ask AI to answer, the app sends only the data of that request through our server to Anthropic (Claude models): the selected part of the screen or a photo, your question, a lecture transcript or matching excerpts from your documents. Our server does not store this content. Anthropic processes it to produce the answer, does not use it to train models and keeps it for a limited time under its privacy policy. If an answer needs recent facts, AI may search the web — only a query written by AI goes to the search.
Why we need it
To sign you in, limit devices according to your plan, run subscriptions and invites, and send confirmation and password-reset codes. To count AI requests against your plan.
Who receives data
Account data is stored with Supabase (EU servers, Frankfurt). Installers are distributed via GitHub. Payment data will be handled by a payment provider — we never store card numbers. We don't sell data or show ads. AI requests are processed by Anthropic (USA).
Website
The website doesn't use cookies for advertising or analytics. When you sign in on the Account page, the session is kept in the tab's memory and deleted when the tab is closed.
Your rights
You can access, correct or delete your data — just write to us. You can change your name and avatar in the app and unlink devices on the Account page.
Children
School students may use the service. If you are under 14, use the app with your parents' consent.
